We’re proud to announce that Recite Me has been recognised in TechRound’s AI45, a global ranking celebrating organisations using artificial intelligence to create meaningful impact.
The annual list highlights businesses that are applying AI in practical ways to solve complex challenges. Recite Me was recognised for our work developing AI-powered accessibility solutions that help organisations create more accessible and inclusive digital experiences.
Technology with a social purpose
Founded by our CEO Ross Linnett following his own experiences navigating inaccessible online content as a person with dyslexia, Recite Me exists to remove digital barriers and help organisations create experiences that work for everyone. Today, we support more than 12,500 organisations and websites worldwide through a combination of accessibility software, services and expertise.
Over recent years, our product and development teams have explored how AI can help organisations tackle accessibility challenges more effectively.
This includes developing AI-powered accessibility checking technology that can identify and prioritise issues across websites, as well as intelligent PDF accessibility solutions that help organisations address one of the most persistent accessibility challenges facing both the public and private sectors.
The goal has never been to replace human expertise. The goal is to help organisations take action faster, focus effort where it matters most, and make accessibility improvements at a scale that would otherwise be difficult to achieve.
Recognition from the AI community
As part of the judging process, AI Enterprise Strategist Maria Nugroho highlighted the impact of Recite Me’s work, saying:
- “Recite Me moved me; AI applied with genuine social purpose.”
For us, that statement captures exactly what accessibility technology should be about.
The most powerful applications of AI aren’t always the most complex. Sometimes they’re the ones that help more people access information independently, apply for jobs, access public services, complete transactions or engage with digital content without unnecessary barriers.
AI and human accessibility expertise
Digital accessibility will always be about people. No technology can replace lived experience, professional judgement or a genuine understanding of how people interact with digital content. Accessibility requires human insight, testing and continuous improvement.
However, organisations are also facing an enormous challenge. Millions of web pages, digital documents and online services need to be reviewed, monitored and improved. Accessibility teams are often working with limited resources while navigating changing regulations, increasing expectations and growing digital estates.
AI can help bridge that gap. By automating repetitive tasks, identifying issues more quickly and helping teams prioritise remediation efforts, AI enables organisations to make faster progress while maintaining a focus on the people who ultimately benefit from those improvements.
As Ross Linnett explains: “Our in-house development and product teams have spent years exploring how AI can help solve complex accessibility challenges at scale. It has opened up opportunities to build solutions that simply weren’t possible a few years ago and has accelerated our ability to support organisations on their accessibility journeys.
“Digital accessibility will always be about people. Technology alone cannot create truly accessible experiences. However, the scale and pace required to improve accessibility across millions of web pages and digital documents means AI has an important role to play alongside human expertise, lived experience and professional judgement.”
Looking ahead
Recognition in TechRound’s AI45 is a proud milestone for our team. It also shows that digital accessibility is becoming a growing priority for organisations worldwide. New legislation, greater awareness and rising user expectations are creating momentum for change, and technology has an important role to play in helping organisations respond.
As we continue to invest in product development and innovation, our focus remains the same: building practical solutions that help organisations make accessibility achievable and create more inclusive digital experiences for everyone.
