We caught up with Ian Steere, Digital Business Partner at Mace to discuss their internal accessibility group and ED&I at Mace. ...
With 30 years of experience, Mace Construction was founded out of a belief that the construction industry could be more efficient, innovative, and responsible. Over the years, Mace has built a track record for delivering projects faster and safer than ever before.
Working across 4 main areas, Mace develops, consults, constructs, and operates across the entire property and infrastructure lifecycle to help their clients, people, communities, and society achieve more than they believe is possible.
Approximately 15% of the world’s population live with some form of disability which may impact an individual’s ability to read and understand online information. Anyone may need additional support online; this could be due to a disability, learning difficulty, visual impairment, or if they speak English as a second language.
To level the playing field and drive the construction industry forward Mace wanted to fly the flag for accessibility and inclusiveness and improve all parts of their business to create equal opportunities. This starts online with their website, to shop windows to hire amazing diverse talent and to attract new business.
Mace is among the first batch of construction companies to provide an inclusive online experience. With over 5,500 staff who serve around 2,500 clients, Mace is dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Mace now provides accessibility support online to create an inclusive digital experience for all their website visitors.
