What Does Accessibility Mean To Me is a time for us to come together and to get everyone talking and learning about accessibility, diversity, and...
The British Fashion Council is a giant UK-based non-profit organisation which looks to strengthen British Fashion in the global economy through creative and positive change. Formed in 1983, The BFC is supported by industry patrons, commercial sponsors, and the government, including the Mayor of London and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The BFC is a direct contributor to the UK Fashion industry which sits at a value of £21 billion & runs some of the nation’s esteemed fashion shows such as London Fashion Week & the Fashion Awards.
The BFC’s dedication to positive change does not alter when it comes to D&I. The British Fashion Council values the diversity of its workforce and is fully committed to the abolition of unlawful and unfair discrimination either offline or online. Therefore, The BFC understands that any of their web visitors, regardless of their struggles and backgrounds, should be able to access their digital platform. With essential funds coming from members and patrons alike, an inclusive website would be a fantastic step forward for all parties involved.
This step forward came in the form of Recite Me’s web accessibility software which was deployed on The British Fashion Council’s website to continue championing diversity and inclusion.
The Recite Me toolbar has given visitors full control of the BFC website so they can find out the latest information on events, news and initiatives that are available.
This can be accomplished by altering the style and colour of the website’s pages and text, as well as by utilising the reading support tools. The toolbar also supports live, on-demand translation into more than 100 languages, as well as 65 text-to-speech voices.
Kick start your journey to make your website accessible and inclusive for everyone by exploring Recite Me’s suite of tools.
