This supports community members with diverse accessibility and language needs to independently access crucial information and make informed decisions about their health. In 2023 more than 100,000 web pages were viewed on their website using the toolbar.

Our Brief

14.1 million people in the UK have some form of disability that can prevent them from reading and understanding content on the web. To ensure they fulfil their duty of care to the Northumberland and North Tyneside community, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust wanted to ensure that everyone has access to healthcare, empowering people to make informed decisions about their health. 

Our Solution

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has implemented the Recite Me toolbar to enable their website visit to customise their digital experience and as a result make decisions about their health. 

The assistive tools available include reading aids, styling and customisation tools, a screen reader and a live translator with over 100 languages, 65 of which are text-to-speech.
