Our Brief

Over 8 million pages of advice and information are read each year on Rethink Mental Illness’s website. During the pandemic, Rethink Mental Illness saw an increased demand for content to be available in specific languages, to be read aloud, and for it to be formatted to accommodate a wide range of neurodiverse conditions.

This is why Rethink Mental Illness needed to find a solution to make their online content accessible to all, regardless of their users background. But, how would they do this?

Our Solution

Rethink Mental Illness is one of England’s first mental health charities to make its content available in over 100 languages and allow users to customise their experience depending on individual requirements.

The Rethink Mental Illness website now has on-the-fly translations which can be read-aloud and styling options to make sure that advice and information content can reach the broadest possible audience.

The Recite Me toolbar also provides the user with an integrated screen reader and a set of reading aids which include a interactive magnifying glass and a screen mask to help users concentrate on segments of a page.
