GMB Union

GMB Union is a trade union that represents all workers and currently employs over 500,000 members who work across public services and private companies.

GMB’s job is to get the best deal possible for its members, meaning they will help you if you have a problem, and always fight for better when it comes to pay, terms and conditions, and a good work-life.

Work conditions they advocate for would be where workers are safe and treated with dignity, they have a better work/life balance, and fairness – making sure working people have their rights at work and are treated fairly and legally when there’s a problem.

Our Brief

To serve the needs of diverse workers in the UK, and get the best possible deal for workers when it comes to paying, work-life, and fairness, GMB Union wanted to ensure all online information can be accessed barrier-free regardless of an individual’s disability, learning difficulty, visual impairment, or language.

Being able to provide customers with additional needs support online was a key step forward for the GMB Union.

Our Solution

To support all online, GMB Union implemented the Recite Me unique and customisable toolbar to grant everyone access to the information on the GMB Union website.

Users have access to screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customisable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages including 65 text-to-speech and styling options.
