Recite Me is proud to announce that we are a partner of Stockport’s Digital Inclusion Alliance, DigiKnow. We join 80+ other organisations in a commitment to help Stockport residents use digital services as they become an integral part of everyone’s daily lives.

quoteKathryn Rees, Director of Strategy at Stockport Council, commented on Recite Me joining, saying:

“Stockport Council believes in accessibility for all and cares deeply about ensuring everyone can access online information and services equally. That’s why we’re helping people overcome the challenges of getting online through our DigiKnow network and why we have the Recite Me web accessibility and language toolbar on our website. We’re delighted that Recite Me is bringing its expertise in online inclusivity to our DigiKnow community network.”

Why does DigiKnow exist?

In Stockport, many adults still lack the basic digital skills needed to thrive in today’s world. This issue hits harder on vulnerable groups such as those with low incomes, seniors, and marginalised communities. The connection between not being able to use digital tools and feeling left out socially is clear, emphasising the importance of addressing this problem.

What is DigiKnow?

DigiKnow is a network of partners from all sectors working collaboratively to help shape, support and promote digital inclusion in Stockport. The alliance has been commissioned by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, who we have worked with for almost 4 years now to help break down digital barriers for residents on www.stockport.gov.uk.

The goal is to ensure that Stockport residents have the devices, connectivity and skills to get online for the first time and use the internet to do things that benefit them daily.

Recite Me is thrilled to support an initiative that shares our mission: to foster a more inclusive online environment for all. We’re looking forward to collaborating with fellow partners, sharing our expertise and joining forces to positively impact the lives of Stockport residents.
