Young entrepreneur Bobby recently joined the Recite Me team to develop his exciting product idea, inspired by his family members with dyslexia.

At a recent Citizens Advice Gateshead charity event, Recite Me donated tickets to the Newcastle United Football Club Box as a prize. The winners, 12-year-old Bobby and his mum, attended the game and struck up a conversation with Recite Me’s Sales Manager, Chris. During their conversation, Chris learned about Bobby’s background and his aspirations in computing.

Inspired by his family members who have dyselxia, Bobby channelled his energy into something positive: an idea for a product designed to support people with dyslexia. His concept is a tool that can intelligently suggest the word someone might be trying to spell, creating a more intuitive and supportive experience for users who find traditional methods difficult.

At Recite Me, we are committed to supporting our community and championing inclusive innovation. Inspired by his determination and creativity, we invited Bobby to join the Recite Me team for an afternoon a week, to explore how Bobby’s idea could be a real-world solution for those who face barriers when writing. Over the weeks, he’s dived into every stage of the product life cycle: ideation, design, development, testing, and marketing.

Bobby has now completed his final session with us, where he presented his work to our Head of Product, John and Business Support Manager, Alison. John even described it as ‘one of the best presentations he’s seen this year,’ a testament to Bobby’s talent, passion, and drive.

It has been an absolute pleasure to work alongside such a kind, creative, and intelligent young man. Bobby has shown us all what’s possible when we believe in our ideas and refuse to let barriers stand in our way.

We do not doubt that this is just the beginning for Bobby, and we can’t wait to see what he does next. All the best in the future, Bobby!
