Our Brief

Digital inclusion is extremely important to United Utilities. As part of the company’s commitment to providing an essential service to the North West of England, it wanted to ensure all web visitors had access to the resources and information they may need online. By making its website digitally inclusive, United Utilities can support everyone’s needs.

Our Solution

To enhance the quality of online communications on its website, United Utilities installed Recite Me assistive technology to support those with disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments and those who speak English as a second language.

Website users customise their toolbar to suit their own specific needs, such as translating content into different languages, reading aloud, and styling assistance. This includes adjustments to colour, font type, and size.

Residents who may need further information on their water and wastewater services can use the United Utilities website accessibility tools to read and understand the information in a way that works best for them.
