Liverpool City Council is the governing body for the city of Liverpool in Merseyside, England. It consists of 90 councillors, three for each of the city’s 30 wards. Each councillor is locally elected and makes decisions on how to improve local services. Liverpool City Council exists to serve, safeguard and represent the interests of citizens and communities and ensure the provision of the best possible service for its residents.
With a diverse population, Liverpool City Council aims to provide residents with valuable information in a way that is accessible to all. To do so, Liverpool City Council needed to provide an inclusive digital experience to support those with disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments, and those who speak English as a second language.
To support the diverse needs of Liverpool residents, Liverpool City Council has implemented the Recite Me toolbar to ensure everyone can read content in a way that best suits their individual needs.
Toolbar features include screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customisable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages including 65 text-to-speech options.
