Beacon of Hope Crisis Center is a Christ-centered organization empowering victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to become self-sufficient by providing safety, education, and support.

Beacon of Hope Crisis Center advocates assist with safety planning and let victims know what is available for them within their agency or one of their agency partner service providers. Their vision is a world in which everyone can live free from the grip of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Our Brief

Beacon of Hope Crisis Center is committed to serving all individuals facing domestic violence and sexual assault crises. As part of their diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, they wanted to support over 25% of the population who may encounter barriers when exploring their website due to having a disability, learning difficulty, visual impairment, or if they speak English as a second language. Being able to offer an inclusive experience to all was essential to their mission of reaching as many in need to save lives.

Our Solution

Beacon of Hope Crisis Center implemented Recite Me online accessibility and language support tools. The internet can be an incredibly intimidating place for those with access barriers, and those lacking the tools they need to adequately understand or communicate are at a significant disadvantage.

The Recite Me assistive toolbar enables all website visitors, regardless of their differing abilities or language needs, to customize Beacon of Hope Crisis Center’s website in a way that works best for them. Recite Me assistive technology includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customizable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages, including 65 text-to-speech.
