We are excited to announce that the Recite Me toolbar is now live on the NeighborWorks Boise website for all visitors to access their information online barrier-free!

Since 1982, NeighborWorks Boise has helped to revitalize neighborhoods and improve lives throughout the Idaho region by addressing the housing needs in the community.

NeighborWorks Boise works to provide affordable housing solutions, through a list of programs and services, that educate, empower, and offer the necessary resources so low-to-moderate-income families in the region can obtain, retain, and maintain their homes.

With the implementation of Recite Me technology, you can navigate to the Language and Accessibility green button at the bottom right corner of the screen and enable the Recite Me software to help you read, interpret, and interact with NeighborWorks Boise’s online resources.

The addition of Recite Me not only addresses the ongoing commitment for NeighborWorks Boise to help the dream of owning a home a reality for many but also creates an online environment where 25% of American residents who are disabled and experiencing housing insecurity can thrive!

Not to mention, the US is facing a housing crisis with only 15.5% of homes for sale being affordable for a typical household. The addition of any online accessibility tool could assist potential homeowners looking for information on affordable housing.

Kodianne Burnett, Marketing & Events Coordinator at NeighborWorks Boise commented:

“NeighborWorks® Boise’s mission is to create innovative housing solutions for underserved populations through strategic partnerships that contribute to building stronger communities. With Recite Me, we are able to do just that. Together we are breaking down barriers on our website to create a more inclusive experience for all who visit.”

NeighborWorks Boise joins a growing list of housing organizations and authorities such as the Denver Housing Authority and Louisiana Housing Corporation committed to creating an inclusive online environment. The Recite Me toolbar provides features such as screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customizable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages, including 65 text-to-speech and styling options.
