To ensure that all students, faculty, staff, and community members can access important information online, IVC has partnered with Recite Me to implement the Assistive Toolbar across its website.

With a focus on equity and inclusion, Imperial Valley College recognized the importance of offering accessible online resources that remove barriers for students with disabilities, language differences, and learning challenges. By integrating Recite Me, IVC is actively working toward meeting ADA and WCAG compliance, while also demonstrating a strong commitment to creating more inclusive digital environments for students.

Our Solution

Visitors to the Imperial Valley College website can now customize their digital experience using Recite Me’s cloud-based assistive toolbar. The toolbar includes:

  • Access to a dictionary and translation for individuals with limited English proficiency
  • Text-to-speech functionality for individuals with vision impairments or reading difficulties
  • Reading aids to improve comprehension


These features empower users to navigate the site in a way that best suits their individual needs, whether they’re researching courses, applying for financial aid, or seeking campus support services.
