Our Brief

61 million adults in the US live with a disability that may prevent access to the digital world, putting individuals at a significant disadvantage. To be able to provide vital cancer support services to everyone, CancerCare needed to implement an online support service to make their website inclusive and barrier-free.

Our Solution

To reinforce CancerCare’s commitment to providing support to help manage the emotional, practical, and financial challenges of cancer, all website visitors can now read information and resources easily. The assistive technology on the CancerCare website includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customizable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages including 65 text-to-speech and styling options.

By implementing Recite Me assistive technology, CancerCare has removed barriers for those with disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments, and those who speak English as a second language.
