Foothills Academy

For more than 40 years Foothills Academy has been dedicated to facilitating learning in persons, primarily youth and children, identified as having a Learning Disability by providing quality educational programs and a supportive environment for families and staff.

Programs provided include school and community services that house Psychology Services, Read/Write, Amicus Camps and Recreation, Professional Development, and Community Education.

Our Brief

Foothills Academy is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As an agency that has been advocating for the rights of neurodiverse learners for more than four decades, Foothills Academy wants everyone to feel that they are valued and that they recognize those differences, even in something as small as their website experience.

Foothills Academy works with students and families of a wide range of ages, and abilities, and who may speak different languages, making digital inclusion and accessibility particularly important.

Our Solution

To continue to be a wrap-around service for individuals with Learning Disabilities/ADHD and their families, Foothills Academy implemented the Recite Me Toolbar on their website to provide accessible resources to all learners, regardless of disabilities, learning difficulties, and language barriers.

Recite Me assistive technology includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customizable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages, 65 of which can be read aloud.
