University of Melbourne Student Union

The University of Melbourne Student Union (UMSU) has a student body of more than 54,000 with a diverse population of more than 20,000 international students from over 130 countries around the world. In April 2023, UMSU took on the Recite Me toolbar to address the diverse needs of its students.

Our Brief

With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, USMU aims to enhance student life by elevating and representing student voices through purposeful engagement and advocacy, providing exceptional programs, services and opportunities. To fulfil its mission, UMSU aimed to find a solution to support all students on its online platform.

Our Solution

UMSU took on Recite Me assistive technology and ever since has enabled students to access and understand online information in ways that best meet their individual needs. The website offers a range of assistive tools, including reading aids, customisable styling options, and a translation feature.
