21 member libraries are part of the UCLA which is committed to working together to provide for the people of Ulster County.

Our Brief

The Ulster County Library Association provides an array of services to its community such as securing funds on behalf of county libraries, coordinating the dissemination of information on library services and activities, and providing a forum to encourage free communications among Member libraries.

To ensure their online information and services were accessible, inclusive, and customizable for residents, residents, and employees, UCLA sought a solution that allowed all web users to access the information and services offered through their websites without barriers.

Our Solution

Ulster County Library Association (UCLA) wanted to ensure all digital visitors to 20 libraries could access information and materials in a way that best fits their individual needs.

To fulfill their goal of best serving the people of Ulster County, UCLA implemented Recite Me toolbar to allow individuals with language needs or disabilities the same access to information, opportunities, and rights that is available to all.

Recite Me assistive technology provides a range of tools, including screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customizable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages including 65 text-to-speech.

“When the Ulster County Library Association reviewed Recite Me, it was one of the few projects that received universal approval and excitement. It just makes so much sense to make our web resources available to as many people as possible, regardless of physical disability or language needs. Once we purchased the platform, it was so easy to implement that we breathed another sigh of relief. Although the platform is affordable, its value far exceeds the amount we paid for it.”
