Syracuse Hancock International Airport

Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) is a joint civil-military airport located in Onondaga County, New York.

Since 1949, SYR has served as Central New York’s primary gateway to the world, offering nonstop service to 28 major cities. In 2022 alone, over 1.2 million passengers passed through the gates of SYR en route to destinations around the world.

Our Brief

In addition to air travel, SYR offers a wide range of services and facilities to travelers and visitors, including multiple dining options, retail stores, and parking facilities. In order to ensure that all individuals can easily access and utilize these offerings, the airport has implemented various measures to eliminate any barriers or challenges that may impede navigation or usage.

To create an equally inclusive experience on the SYR website and ensure that its online information and services are easily accessible and user-friendly for all members of the community, the airport sought a solution that would eliminate barriers that may prevent users from accessing its website and resources.

Our Solution

To ensure that all individuals, including those with disabilities or language needs, have equal access to information and opportunities on the SYR website, the airport has implemented the Recite Me toolbar.

The Recite Me assistive toolbar enables all website visitors, regardless of their differing abilities or language needs, to customize the Syracuse Hancock International Airport website in a way that works best for them. Recite Me assistive technology includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customizable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages, 65 of which can be read aloud.
