The UK’s leading mobile web accessibility company Recite Me has created an infographic about mobile web usage and user’s different access requirements or preferences for Global Accessibility Awareness Day, today.

Growing numbers of people in the UK own a smartphone or tablet and according to Google‘s Our Mobile Planet report, 65% of smartphone users are accessing the Internet everyday and 62% of the population actually owns a smartphone.

“People are researching products, looking up travel information and making purchases on their mobile devices.

“Smart businesses are optimising their websites for mobile platforms, but accessibility for mobile users must not be overlooked,” says Ross Linnett, Recite Me’s CEO & founder.

Around 11 million people in the UK, or 1 in 5 of the population, have a disability and would benefit from greater customisation of content whether its changing the font size or having the content read aloud.
