Located in Brisbane, Australia, the NHVR regulates over 814,000 registered vehicles across the country, driving the sustainable improvement of the safety, productivity, and efficiency of the heavy vehicle industry. With 800 employees, the NHVR regulates a mass of vehicles, consistently working to improve services.

Our Brief

Approximately 30-40% of the Australian population are neurodiverse, which may affect an individual’s ability to read and understand online information. To keep driving the sustainable improvement of the heavy vehicle industry. The NHVR wanted to provide accessibility and language support online to ensure website visitors could get the information they required from the NHVR website in a way that best suited their needs.

Our Solution

The NHVR has taken its duty to serve into the digital world and now provides Recite Me assistive technology to support those with disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments, and those who speak English as a second language. 

The assistive toolbar on the NHVR website includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customisable styling options and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages including 65 text-to-speech and styling options.
