Beaumont People is an award-winning recruitment partner, dedicated to connecting purpose-driven organisations with exceptional talent.  In October 2023, they implemented the Recite Me Assistive Toolbar to make inclusion a key part of their recruitment journey. Since then, they’ve seen a boost in both user engagement and job applications on their website.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day took place yesterday (15th May 2025), where we are highlighted how small steps can create a big impact. Beaumont People are doing just that, by taking meaningful actions to embed accessibility across every stage of the candidate experience.

An Inclusive Recruitment Process

An inclusive recruitment process ensures equal opportunity for all, supporting a diverse workforce and unlocking a broader talent pool. For Beaumont People, inclusion isn’t just an idea, it’s embedded in everything they do.

“We know that a complex or inaccessible application process can deter talented individuals from applying. Digital inclusion allows more people to engage with confidence, and for us, that’s fundamental to equitable hiring outcomes.”

Increasing Job Applications with the Recite Me Assistive Toolbar

Beaumont People implemented the Recite Me Toolbar to create a user-friendly, personalised experience that would benefit a wide range of visitors. With the Recite Me Toolbar, users can convert text-to-speech for easier reading, adjust font sizes and colour contrast for better visibility and translate content into multiple languages for better comprehension. These tools help to remove barriers for individuals who are neurodiverse, visually impaired, or who speak English as a second language.

“Since integrating Recite Me, we’ve seen a marked increase in user engagement. Our usage statistics show users are interacting with the toolbar across a wide range of pages, and engagement continues to rise. This suggests that the platform is being actively used and is providing value.”

“In addition, we’ve noticed an increase in applications from candidates who have shared specific accessibility needs. This demonstrates that users feel more confident in declaring their needs and are able to navigate the application process with greater ease. These early indicators reflect our goal of supporting inclusive recruitment outcomes and ensuring all individuals can engage with our services comfortably.”

Achieving Disability Confident Employer Status

Beaumont People recently partnered with Job Access through the National Disability Recruitment Coordinator (NDRC) program, undergoing a comprehensive 12-month audit to strengthen their disability inclusion strategy. A big part of this review was considering accessibility needs as a fundamental enabler of unlocking the hidden talent market.

“The Recite Me partnership allowed us to close some of these gaps, and contributed to Beaumont People being awarded alumni status as a Disability Confident Employer.”

This achievement reflects their ongoing commitment to building an inclusive recruitment process and workplace.
