Forgotten Harvest<\/a> implemented the Recite Me toolbar in December 2022 and has been breaking down online digital barriers ever since.<\/p>

Established in 1990 to fight hunger and food insecurity, Forgotten Harvest is a non-profit food rescue organization that collects food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it free of charge to organizations feeding the hungry in Metro Detroit.<\/p>

Forgotten Harvest delivers 144,000 pounds of surplus food per day to local charities five days a week, providing families in need with fresh and nutritious food free of charge.<\/p>

With approximately 735 million people finding themselves in a state of chronic hunger or experiencing food insecurity<\/a>, making sure food information and online resources are available and accessible to every person is crucial.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the last 12 months, there have been over 26,000 clicks on the translation tool on the Forgotten Harvest website, which includes translations into Ukrainian and Spanish.<\/p>

In addition to an on-demand translation tool with over 100 languages, Recite Me\u2019s assistive technology<\/a> comes equipped with a screen reader, styling and customization options, and a set of reading aids, which includes the brand-new and recently released \u2018Focused Text\u2019 tool.<\/p>

Over 5,000 websites currently use Recite Me assistive technology, which includes Food Banks and Pantrys such as Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank<\/a>, Food Bank of Delaware<\/a>, and many more.<\/p>
