It\u2019s the third year we\u2019ve coordinated this week-long awareness campaign. To them, accessibility might mean wheelchair ramps, elevators, accessible bathrooms, reserved parking, and workspaces with adjustable desks and chairs.\u00a0<\/p><p>However, not all disabilities are physical. In fact, it\u2019s estimated as many as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inclusivecitymaker.com\/invisible-disabilities-80-of-disabled-people-are-concerned\/\">80% of all disabilities are hidden<\/a>. Hidden disabilities encompass a broad range of conditions, including:<\/p><ul><li>Vision impairments like blindness, partial blindness, blurred vision, deaf-blindness, and <a href=\"https:\/\/reciteme.com\/us\/news\/color-blindness-and-website-assistive-technology\/\">color blindness.<\/a><\/li><li>Neurodivergent traits like dyslexia, dyspraxia, hyperlexia, and dysgraphia.<\/li><li>Attention disorders like attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).<\/li><li>Autism.<\/li><li>Learning disabilities.<\/li><li>Hearing loss.<\/li><\/ul><p>For employees with hidden disabilities, accessibility considerations are more likely to include factors like signage and wayfinding aids, captioning and transcripts on digital content, accessible documentation and communication tools, and assistive technology like screen readers and voice recognition software.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-97e3ad4 disable-default elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"97e3ad4\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-b155744\" data-id=\"b155744\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ff9afbb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ff9afbb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Why is Accessibility Important in a Digital Setting?\u00a0<\/h2><p>Digital accessibility revolves around making the virtual world as inclusive and accommodating as the physical one. Ensuring that no one is left behind is essential in today\u2019s digital age, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oberlo.com\/statistics\/how-much-time-does-the-average-person-spend-on-the-internet#:~:text=On%20average%2C%20internet%20users%20worldwide,415.5%20minutes%E2%80%9416%20minutes%20more.\">people spend an average of 400 minutes online every day<\/a>. We have all come to rely on the Internet for everyday tasks like shopping, banking, and checking the weather, in addition to more critical tasks like applying for jobs, and researching healthcare options, etc.\u00a0<\/p><p>In a workplace setting, digital accessibility ensures that all employees, regardless of their abilities or disabilities, can fully participate in all aspects of their jobs.
