The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives of 1 in 5 children and adults in the US with learning and attention barriers. The NCLD was founded in 1977 as the Foundation for Children with Learning Disabilities and since then has worked tirelessly to create an equal society for all, providing the skills needed to succeed in school, at work, and in life.
70% of websites in the US have critical accessibility issues, leaving those vulnerable with a lack of information and services. To continue to support a diverse range of individuals, the NCLD aimed to provide unlimited access to online information and services on its website.
The NCLD has implemented Recite Me online accessibility and language support tools. The assistive technology on the NCLD’s website includes screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, customizable styling options, and an on-demand live translation feature that boasts over 100 languages including 65 text-to-speech and styling options.
