DC SAFE

DC SAFE began its mission against Domestic Violence in 1997 with just a few advocates and in 2006 became an independent non-profit organization. They are proud to be a leader in providing support for empowerment for thousands of survivors each year.

Our Brief

With the intersections that exist between disability and domestic violence, DC SAFE is aware of the importance of making online content accessible. To be able to provide ease of access to all vital support information, DC Safe needed to offer an accessible online experience.

To ensure their online information and services were accessible, inclusive, and customizable for everyone, they sought a solution that would provide users with barrier-free access to the information and services offered through their website.

Our Solution

To reinforce DC SAFE’s commitment to enabling all visitors to access their website barrier-free, they implemented Recite Me assistive technology.

The Recite Me assistive technology provides DC SAFE website visitors with a range of tools including screen reading functionality, multiple styling options, reading aids, and a live translation feature that offers over 100 languages including 65 text-to-speech.
