Our Brief

The University of Sunderland believes that inclusion for everyone is about inviting, embracing, and valuing different people to come to the University and creating an environment and a culture where people feel valued and included. This view and environment start with their websites. Being able to provide accessible information for new people researching the university and for students to access course information at any time.

Our Solution

To enable thousands of people to access life-changing University of Sunderland information equally, the University now provides accessibility and language support through Recite Me assistive technology. 

Recite Me’s Cloud based web accessibility and language solution – includes text-to-speech functionality, dyslexia software, an interactive dictionary, a translation tool with over 100 languages, and many other features, making the University of Sunderland’s online content accessible to more people than ever before.

In the past 12 months, the toolbar has been launched over 279,000 times, with over 80,000 users. The University was named the University of the Year for Social Inclusion in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.
