Disability Rights Florida

Disability Rights Florida was founded in 1977 as the state’s designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) system for individuals with disabilities. The P&A system exists to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and success of people with disabilities.

Disability Rights Florida advocates, educates, investigates, and litigates to protect and advance the rights, dignity, equal opportunities, self-determination and choices for all people with disabilities.

Our Brief

Accessibility is extremely important to Disability Rights Florida and this includes digital accessibility and inclusion. As part of their new website, they wanted to be able to offer a platform that would support as many people as possible across the state of Florida.

Our Solution

To enhance the inclusivity of their new website, Disability Rights Florida has installed a number of accessibility and language support features using Recite Me assistive technology. People with disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments, or people who speak English as a second language will be able to use a wide range of tools to customize their experience on the Disability Rights Florida website.

These support features include text-to-speech functionality, fully customizable styling options, reading support features, and a translation tool that supports over 100 languages, including 65 text-to-speech voices.
